Larke Lab Kennels is a licensed kennel family owned and operated by Larry and Linda Mock. Our love for Labs started in Aug. 1988 with purchase of our first chocolate Lab named Kody. With no formal training, Kody introduced us to upland bird hunting. That was the start of our love for Labs. Our kennel is nestled between the mountains of Central Pennsylvania near Altoona, Pa. At Larke Lab Kennels we breed and raise Labrador Retrievers. Our dogs are AKC registered. All of our adult dogs have been OFA for hips and elbows (excellent or good) and CERF on eyes. Our puppies are born and raised in our home. We give a 26 month guarantee on hips, elbows and eyes. Dewclaws are removed at 2-3 days old. Our puppies are vet checked at 6 weeks old, have current shots and have been wormed. We have black, chocolate, and yellow Labrador Retrievers at our kennel. Our Labrador Retriever puppies are socialized so they will fit right into your home or kennel. (We have 5 grandchildren, who love playing with our pups) Our puppies make great hunting dogs, hunt test dogs, agility dogs and the most loyal pets. We have expanded our kennel. Upland Bird Guiding Service We, here at Larke Lab Kennels, offer upland guiding with our well trained Labrador Retrievers and English Setters. Depending on what style of hunting you prefer, we can fill the bill with either a flushing or pointing dog. We have two experienced handlers who help us also, Randy Murray and Elaine Dull. Our dogs work as well for them as they do for us.Sky, a black Lab and Major, one of our English Setters, are two of our premier upland dogs. Sky hunts with determination and lets no bird go unfound. She quarters very nicely and actually points the bird before she moves in for the flush. She is probably one of the best upland bird dogs in central Pa. We have several other Labs and Setters that we use in our guiding business too. Major is steady to wing and shot and flows though the fields as if floating on air. Major lead two inexperienced handlers to a win in the North East Central Chuckar Challenge in March 08.
