Gunnar is an 80 lb. dark chocolate male (yellow factored) He is a well bred hunting retriever. Gunnar is very athletic, energetic with substantial drive. Gunnar's sire is GMHR Southland Leroy Brown. His grandfather is the renowned FC-AFC-MHR Westwind Bold Tiger. Gunnar is a proven Upland Bird dog as well as an excellent retriever. His hips are OFA good and elbows are OFA normal. Gunnar has had his eyes CERF. Gunnar is still available for stud!

SHR Southland Jagoda "Jag" Leroy WC 1/15/00-11/8/07

"Jag"

Jag was a 115 lb. yellow male (chocolate factored). He was a well bred hunting retriever. Jag loved to retrieve and was an excellent water fowl dog. Jag's sire was GMHR Southland Leroy Brown. His grandfather was the renowned FC-AFC-MHR Westwind Bold mannered, very good with children and had a charismatic personality. His hips were OFA Good and elbows were OFA normal. Jag's eyes  had a clear CERF. Jag was my all time favorite Lab.

It is great sadness that I must inform you that Jag passed away on 11/8/07. I will miss my "big guy". He was my best friend. As our vet said. "Jag was truly a special, noble dog, who touched so many people's lives, one of those once in a lifetime dogs." We were able to do a collection so we will be able to have 1 or 2 more litters of Jag's in the future. Dam(s) yet to be determined.  Below you will see a son of Jag's Jackson, that we kept from his last litter that he sired born on 9/18/07.

Sarge is a 4 year old chocolate male and weighs about 75 lbs. He has the sweetest personality (much like his sire, Leroy and his brother, Jag). Sarge has grown into quite a handsome, muscular young male. Sarge's sire is GMHR Southland Leroy Brown.  His grandfather is the renowned FC-AFC-MHR Westwind Bold Tiger.  Like his brothers, he loves to retrieve and is really good with children. Sarge earned his AKC JH title on June 10, 2007 after 4 consecutive passes. He earned his WC on 7-21-07 at the Great Pittsburgh Labrador Retriever Club. Sarge received his HRC SHR title on May 18, 2008. He is 10-10 in hunt test. His OFA finals for his hips are "excellent" and his elbows are "normal".  Sarge has a clear CERF (eye certification)  Sarge sired 4 beautiful litters and with much disappointment he has been retired. Sarge is now in training for his AKC SH title with Doug Reiter.

Jackson is our youngest male. His sire was SHR Southland Jagoda Jag Leroy, who was my all time favorite Lab. His dam is  Larke Starlite Sky, who is our best upland bird dog.  He was born on 9-18-07. Jackson was the only yellow from this litter of 5. He has some BIG paws to fill and he is doing so quite admirably. Jackson loves to snuggle and to be hugged like his sire, Jag. He has a real laid back personality. He is probably the "best" puppy that we've ever raised thus far. We receive a lot of  compliments on his demeanor.  His maternal grandsire was GMHR Southland Leroy Brown and great-grand sire was  FC-AFC-MHR Westwind Bold Tiger. His maternal grandsire was the well- known "Pete" CH Franklins Pickpocket for Kerrybrook MH.  He is one of 41 Labs to be dual titled. His maternal dam has her AKC MH title. He is going to be a part of our breeding program here at Larke Lab Kennels. OFA Hips: Excellent, Elbows Normal, CERF: Clear Jackson received his HRC SHR title at the Keystone Waterfowlers on 6-7-09. Jackson received his AKC JH title in South Carolina on 11-21-09. Larry is going to continue his training for his AKC SH title.

Larke Kennels is proud to have a Sarge and Ellie son standing at stud at our kennel. Jake is owned by Polly and Brad Shaffer of Leesburg, VA. Jake is a 3 year old chocolate male and weighs about 80 lbs. He has the sweetest personality. Jake is a strikingly handsome male with a deep rich chocolate coat.  Jake's sire is our own SHR Southland Sarge of Larke JH WC and grandsire is GMHR Southland Leroy Brown.  His great-grandfather is the renowned FC-AFC-MHR Westwind Bold Tiger.  His dam is our own SHR Larke Miss Ellie Girl JH WC. His maternal grandmother has her AKC MH title and her maternal grandfather has his AKC SH title. He loves to retrieve and likes children.  His OFA finals for his hips are "good" and his elbows are "normal".  Jake has a current CERF (eye certification) and EIC clear. Jake now has his AKC JH title. He will continue on with his training with Doug Reiter for his AKC SH title.

 

Dreammeyer's Striking Ryder of Larke

Larke Kennels is proud to announce a new chocolate male addition to their kennel. We have named this puppy Striker. He comes from Dream Myer's kennel in Minnesota. This little guy has a pretty impressive pedigree. His dam has Dreammeyer Gracie's Stellar Ryder has her AKC JH title and is in training for her AKC SH title. His sire is Ten Bears Road Trip QAA "Tick". Every dog in his sire 4 generation pedigree is titled.  We have very high expectations of this little guy. At 3 1/2 months old he was marking 40 yard retrieves in the water. He is even bringing the bumpers back to us. Striker is co-owned by Polly Shaffer and myself.  Striker is EIC and CNM clear (by birth).

 UT Iron Point's Major of Larke

"Major"

This is Major. He is our first English Setter. He has been a real pleasant addition to our kennel.  He is tri-colored. His sire has his AKC MH title, NAVHDA Versatile Champion and AKC Field Trail Placement. His dam has her AKC MH title too. He has a really calm demeanor but yet springs to life when he knows he is going hunting.  Major ran a NAVHDA Natural Ability Test on June 3, 2006. He earned a "Prize 1" with a score of 112. Major received his NAVHDA Utility title with a "Prize 1" at the Delaware Valley Club in NJ. He will be going to the NAVHDA Invitational in Iowa in September, 2010 for his Versatile Champion title. Many thanks to our trainer, Curt Fry from Slamming Point Kennel in New Brighton, PA. He is back in trainging  with Curt for training for his AKC MH title.

Major's OFA finals on hips are "good" and his elbows are normal. He has a current eye CERF. He has a real love for children. Major is now available for stud service.  

 

 

 

 

Larke Lab Kennels extends our sympathy to Diana Jagoda, from Southland Kennels on the passing of her beloved Leroy on Saturday, July 23, 2005. (GMHR Southland Leroy Brown) Leroy was the sire to our boys, Gunnar, Jag and Sarge. He was one of those once in a life-time dogs. He will be missed.

Requirements For Stud Service

Females:

Must be tested negative for Brucellosis

Must have OFA or Penn Hip certification

Our $500.00 fee does not include a $50 non-refundable breeding fee.

This fee is for 4 live births, anything less the fee is $100.00 a puppy.

 There will be a $10.00 a day boarding fee if your dog stays at out kennel.

Proof of shots and Rabies vaccination are required when boarding.
