Our Girls

Willow is an American, 70 lb. yellow female.  She is from Fryline Kennels in South Carolina and has a great field pedigree with every male in her pedigree titled Master Hunter or Field Champion.  All females in the pedigree are titled except for 3 great grandmothers.  She received her UKC Started Hunting Retriever Title in 2003.  Willow is a high energy girl with a lot of drive and a sweet personality.  She is also a wonderful mother that keeps her pups immaculately clean because her tongue goes non stop.  If you come to visit, be prepared to receive a Willow kiss.

Paige is an all American build, 80 lb. black female carrying yellow.  She is tall and lean with a nice broad head.  She is a pup of Rose of Pine Ridge Kennels and Jag of Larke Lab Kennels and is a sister to Larke Lab's "Jazz".   She is mild mannered and a real sweetheart.  Paige loves to retrieve but settles quickly when brought inside for some one-on-one time.  She has proven herself to be a good mother.

Reagan is an all American puppy out of Jade's last litter with Cole.  She will be passing on our original line.  She is 1 year in the pictures above.   She shares her mother's and father's sweet, laid back personality and submissiveness that will hopefully be passed through to her puppies.  She mostly takes after Jade and is a great addition to our kennel.  Reagan's first litter will be sometime later this year.

Joslyn Kennady of Takoda

Joslyn is Reagan's sister and is an all American puppy out of Jade and Cole.  We were originally planning on selling Joslyn, but she had other plans for us.  She won us all over with her calm, quiet demeanor and unconditional love.  She mostly takes after her father.  She is difficult to get a picture of and will sit at my feet just like he does.  She is a little less confident than Reagan but she is a people dog and loves attention.  (pictures are at 2 years old) 

Joslyn was bred to Koda and expecting a litter in early August.  Check puppies and litters for more info!

Barnes Miss McKinley of Takoda

McKinley, (nickname Kinzye) also named after a past president like Reagan, is a small, all English female carrying yellow and chocolate.  She is a full sister to Larkelab's Molly.  She is a wonderful, very laid back little girl that has won over our hearts already.  Kinzye is all sweetness and loves to cuddle.  She will just sleep on my lap for hours and rarely ever barks. Check back for updated pictures as she grows.  Kinzye is going to be a rather small statured female and hasn't grown much in the last 6 months.

Takdoa's Luck be A Lodi

Lodi is a great addition to Takoda Kennels.  She is an all English female from Heatherwood Kennels in Lakeland, Florida.  Her father is an AKC Champion show titled male.  She is very sweet and very cute.  Lodi is very smart.  She has already mastered her basics such as sit, laydown, stay, and is doing very well with her recall.  She follows me around the yard and loves to be pet and held.  All the dogs love her and we have all come to love her too.   Check back for updated pictures periodically. Onyx is our newest addition.  She is a Raven/Sarge puppy from Pine Ridge Kennels.  She is a niece to Jade, grand daughter to Tye, and cousin to Joslyn and Reagan.  She is all American with a nice even temperament and strong willingness to please.  She has fit in well with the rest of the dogs and is pictured above at 5 months.  Check back for updated pictures periodically. 

Tye is an 11 year old, 65 lb. black female.  She was my first lab and the foundation female of Takoda Kennels.  Her personality sparked my love for labs and her obedient, sweet temper made her the all around perfect dog.  She is fixed now and enjoying the retired life but she was the dam of 3 litters.  She is the mother of Jade and Issa and grandmother of Joslyn, Reagan, and Onyx.   (Ty on right at 11 years old with her daughter Jade who got all of her mother's wonderful personality traits and has now passed them on to her two daughters, Joslyn and Reagan. )  

Ty had to be put to sleep on 5/12/07.  She was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis last fall which is similar to asthma in a person.  During the winter months she only had a few flare ups that could be managed with sedatives but as the weather became warmer, Ty's condition got worse.  She was not a good candidate for the surgery that can be performed and due to her continuously worsening condition she was unable to breathe without gasping.  She never lost the spark in her eye but her body could not keep up with her spirit.  She will be greatly missed.

Milk Chocolate Hershey Jade

Jade is a 7 year old, 65 lb. dark chocolate female.  She has had 4 litters and is a wonderful mom.  She also has an extremely laid back personality.  She is a half sister to Issa. Her Hips are OFA good.  She is the mother of Reagan and Joslyn. 

Jade was fixed after a cesarean with her last litter due to a large puppy and will be spending the rest of her days as my pet.  She has always had a place in my heart and I couldn't bear to give her up. 

Issa is a 5 year old, 70 lb. yellow female.  She is a pup of Evening's Crimson Tide [OFA good] of Takoda Kennels and Allstars Air Jordan [OFA good] of Pine Ridge Kennels.  She has a lot of drive but also a milder side.  Hips are OFA excellent.

Issa had one very large litter of 15 puppies and has been retired.  She has found a home with a family and is living the life of a house pet.  She comes back to visit us on occasion though.  Thanks Bruce and family.  ( above at her new home on her birthday)

Kiah is our Greater Swiss Mountain Dog.  She is pictured at 1 year on top left and bottom and 3yrs on top right.  Kiah is 104lbs. She has the sweetest personality and is a laid back girl that loves her mom's attention.  She can be very comical and vocal at times too.  Life is never dull when she is around.  Kiah has settled in as my house pet and is my constant shadow.  She and Jade have their own Kuranda bed in my bedroom.  Kiah's bed is covered with all of her stuffed toys including "Mr. Hedgehog #1" pictured sleeping with her below.  She also possess "Mr. Pig", "Mr. Hippo", "Mr. Hedgehog #2", and "Quackie" the Duck.   Her newest addition is "Loofa dog".  We have decided not to breed Kiah for the time being.
